Amazing restaurant with great helpful staff! Food was really good and authentic. The place and decor is top tier will definitely be back!!!
Food is excellent, prepared from scratch ....very fresh and beautiful ambience. Staff are friendly.
Recently came here for a reunion with my college friends and it was the perfect place. The decor is out of this world and the I love how big the tables are. We were a table of 4 and the table fit us so comfortably. The service was great. The staff was really nice and accommodating. They seated us early even though we were waiting for one person in our party. The food was delicious. All very seasoned with an authentic Mexican flavor. The portions were also very large, we all got to take something home which is great. The price is priced perfectly for the amount of food given. FYI: If you check in on Yelp and get a coupon for 50% off appetizer, they make you write a review first before it's applied. I didn't agree with this approach but the manager wouldn't budge. So just be aware.
Came on a Friday night with fiance and another couple. The place was decked out in festive decorations that made it a fun environment. The server was also very nice. Even the restaurant wasn't very full, it took a while to get our food. Additionally, we ordered the chips and guac as an appetizer, but it didn't come out until after we got our entrees. The worst part was that it was not fresh - the guac was in a mostly frozen sphere in the bowl, making it inedible for most of the time. I got the chayote, which was well cooked and flavorful, and everyone else really enjoyed their meals.
If you're looking for feel-good Mexican Food, you need to check out @mariachirestaurantnj Mariachi's with Locations in both Metuchen, and Millburn, NJ. My daughter has officially declared that these were the best Empanadas she has ever had. We ordered the Shrimp Scampi, NY Strip, Beef Empanadas, Cheese Quesadillas, Chicken Tacos, Fried Ice Cream, and Churros. Everything was AMAZING. They have a wine license, incase you'd like a Sangria, and extensive Mocktail List, (we ordered the Margarita, but they are BYOB so you're welcome to bring your own tequila) and the atmosphere is just so fun and inviting. Eberyone was friendly and the food came out quickly. We're looking forward to our next trip back. There is a free parking deck on Pearl Street, which is very convenient and very close by! Thank you to my friends at @njhipsturbia for introducing me to this gem of a restaurant
Nice hole in the wall restaurant. It can get loud depending on how full the restaurant is. But since we were in the back we got a quiet spot :) One thing is the red lights and dim lit restaurant makes the place dark. I wish they brightened up the space with regular lights instead of the colored lights. Made the pictures come out dark too (see pictures for reference) The food was amazing! I loved the guac we ordered for appetizers. Nachos were okay, I have had better. The entrees both were good, flavorful and good portions. They served the rice/beans in tortilla cups so more food to eat! (Not that we finished it all) I took off 1 star because the service was really slow. It took them 45 minutes to give us just appetizers and another maybe 50 minutes for the entrees. We waited for quite some time for the food!! Also their fountain drinks are flat. Just order something bottled instead! When we went they were out of stock on most of the advertised bottled drinks.
I came to Mariachi with a small group of friends, for our monthly book club meet. The decor is very festive and welcoming, and the staff were all very friendly and accommodating. The music was enjoyable and at a nice level, but I think the acoustics for the guest's chatter did make it feel louder than other restaurants. It was hard to hear my friend who was sitting furthest from me at times. I ordered the steak nachos, the portion was great and every chip seemed to have a good amount of toppings so I was happy about that. It was enjoyable, but nothing that set it apart from other nachos I've had from other places. My friends all seemed to really enjoy their meals and there is a definite authentic flair that was appreciated by all of us. I think next time I come I will get a meal that is more traditional- but I was really craving nachos on this night! We shared a pitcher of sangria but it tasted watered down to me and didn't have as much flavor as I would have expected. I wouldn't get it again. The churros we shared at the end of our meal was my favorite part hands down!! They were warm, with a fluffy center and came with ice cream and chocolate sauce for dipping.
Stopped here for lunch with a friend. What a great place to enjoy delicious Mexican food! The restaurant is very colorful and bright with delightful, eye-catching paintings on the wall as well as other fun decor. Plenty of seating to accommodate small and large groups alike. The menu is huge and has a lot of great options to choose from. The guacamole was served in a huge portion and was really fresh and chunky. The red sangria was perfectly tasty and not overly sweet. We shared the steak tacos for an appetizer and I loved those, they were well seasoned and the green salsa it was served with was excellent. We also split the camaron scampi (shrimp scampi) which was really good and garlicky. I highly recommend the beef enchiladas, they were really flavorful. Not the biggest portion of enchiladas but we had so much other food to share that it didn't matter. Dessert is a must as well; the tres leches and churros were perfect. Our server, Carlos, was really friendly and hospitable. I recommend stopping by here for a meal, it was well worth it from the fun environment to the food!
My friend and I were looking for a nice place to have dinner and I passed this restaurant a few times as I was going to another business in the area. It was a Saturday evening and we were surprised at the restaurant was not full. It could be because there was a Hispanic heritage month event down the block. So, lucky for us we were quickly seated. I love the colorful design of the space and the unique chairs. Our server immediately greeted us and provided us with water and asked if we wanted anything else and we ordered the white sangria. When he returned to the table and started to pour it we realized it was the red sangria. We told him we would keep it but he insisted on bringing us what we ordered. He returned shortly after with our chips and salsa and a combination of me being very hungry and then being very yummy we dive in. We also ordered the guacamole that was super yummy just enough lime, could've use a little bit more heat but very tasty. The sangria had a nice kick to it but wasn't overly strong. He returned soon to take our meal orders there's lots of great options. We did notice that there wasn't anything on the menu less than $15. Even the appetizers. The portion sizes are good and the food was very tasty. Youll have a pleasurable dining experience. Looks like they also have takeout
